“Any dialogue opportunity with younger people can be an incentive to envision the future. The renewables sector needs to attract talent that can bring new skills and point to new perspectives. Therefore, we renew our commitment to supporting and guiding the young professionals of today and tomorrow by continuing to invest time and resources in their training, thanks above all to the commitment of our colleagues.”
Companies that are engaged in the transformation of Italy’s energy system are called upon to share their knowledge and expertise with an increasingly wider audience interested in learning more about the challenges posed by decarbonization targets. This is the case of EF Solare, a reality made up of professionals ready to put their experience at the service of the communities with whom the company is in contact, paying particular attention to the younger generations. Thanks to the commitments of each person, this year EF Solare was once again able to take part in various training initiatives, such as lectures, courses, and field visits with students from schools, universities, and specialized master’s degree programs, to spread the culture of renewables and raise awareness of the environmental sustainability of the energy sector, thus generating and ever new and continuous confrontation.
As we approach the end of the school year, we wanted to look back at the activities carried out during the first six months of 2023 together with students and young professionals, destined to play a leading role in the energy sector of tomorrow.
Master SAFE
For years, EF Solare has been contributing to the SAFE Master’s in Energy Resource Management through the testimonies of professionals, participating in lectures, visits, and special meetings that offer young students the opportunity to get in touch with the world of solar energy, and discovering the Group’s photovoltaic activities and facilities.
We took part in the opening and closing events of the last edition of the master’s program and contributed to the teaching with a lecture on the photovoltaic industry. We also hosted the students at our Cassiopea plant and at our offices in Rome, to introduce them to the different areas that animate the company and enable it to achieve the Group’s ambitious goals. In June, we also participated in the SAFE Cup, a special day of sports that brought together all SAFE companies and partners with the master’s students to compete together in padel, soccer, and beach volley and, at the same time, team up to face the upcoming challenges of renewables together.
Meetings with the schools
In recent months some of our colleagues have had the opportunity to meet with students from various elementary and middle schools to spread the culture of sustainability and promote the importance of renewable energy, also thanks to the support from teachers. At our Monteboli plant, we hosted the students from the Istituto Comprensivo di Padula (SA), who were able to see a photovoltaic plant up close for the first time and thus learn the process of solar energy production. At our photovoltaic greenhouses in Scalea, our agricultural partner Le Greenhouse has had the pleasure of welcoming an elementary school class from the Istituto Comprensivo di Santa Maria del Cedro, to raise awareness among even the youngest children about the respect for the environment and the importance of natural resources that, like the sun, allow us to live in harmony with the planet.
Accademia del Sole – ELIS
EF Solare has been a partner of the “Accademia del Sole” and the entire ELIS community for years, which we also support through the direct participation of our CEO Andrea Ghiselli in the ELIS Fellow project. Through these initiatives, we had the opportunity to share with participants the importance of the decarbonization challenges we are facing, and the role EF Solare plays in them as a leading industry player. At the same time, we have also the opportunity to train young technicians on our best practices in plant maintenance and safety.
Bologna Business School – BolognaUniversity
EF Solare’s commitment to training covers all levels of education and training. Indeed, we had the pleasure of hosting students and professors of the Global MBA in Green Energy and Sustainable Businesses from the Bologna Business School at our facility in S. Alberto, Ravenna. Dialoguing with professors from the University of Bologna’s international training program, our colleagues explained EF Solare’s activities for increasingly efficient and safe management of its assets.
Any dialogue opportunity with younger people can be an incentive to envision the future. The renewables sector needs to attract talent that can bring new skills and point to new perspectives. Therefore, we renew our commitment to supporting and guiding the young professionals of today and tomorrow by continuing to invest time and resources in their training, thanks above all to the commitment of our colleagues. When we share values, we can build a solid foundation for the development of renewables and society as a whole.
