EF Solare Italia has always been active in promoting the energy transition, thanks to various collaborations with organizations, institutions, and schools in the Italian territory. Believing that renewable energy culture starts with primary education, the Group joined the European project “e^4 – Tools in higher Education for an Embodied & creative Energy Education”. By signing a memorandum of understanding with the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, EF Solare Italia has become part of a European network of stakeholders committed to improving the quality of education in the field of science and energy.
The project’s goal is to train future elementary school teachers with specific skills derived from the experience of seasoned professional, enabling them to prepare future generations for the challenges posed by climate change and new technologies.
Partnerships between private entities and universities have the potential to accelerate innovation and help address the pressing social, economic, and environmental challenges that lie ahead. In fact, School-Business collaborations make it possible to bring innovative content and educational methods into the classroom, contributing to the formation of informed citizens, even before they become skilled workers.
The five-year agreement includes support for the project’s educational activities, primarily through the creation of multimedia teaching materials, which will be published on a dedicated online platform. An initial video interview on solar energy has already been recorded and will be made available soon. In addition, field visits may be organized, through which students from the faculties of Primary Education will be able to see firsthand how a photovoltaic plant operates. EF Solare Italia has embraced this important challenge with the aim of increasing the culture of renewable energy and enhancing professional skills in the sector, which are essential to achieve decarbonization goals. This virtuous exchange will enable future teachers to strengthen their teaching approach and gain knowledge in the energy field.
“We are proud to take part in this European project coordinated by the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. Being able to make our contribution in training teachers and students is crucial to stimulate correct information around the world of renewables. Sharing our knowledge and expertise means making a significant contribution to the education of future generations, who will be called upon to confront a new energy paradigm. Today, more than ever, we feel this responsibility, given the need for professionals specialized in technical and scientific subjects. Together we can stimulate a generational shift that is increasingly aware of the environmental challenges we are facing,” said Michela Demofonti, Head of Institutional Affairs & External Communication and project representative.
Professor Federico Corni, the project representative within the Faculty of Education at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, also highlighted the collaboration, stating: “We believe that broad involvement of stakeholders such as EF Solare Italia could be the key to integrating the knowledge and experience of those who study and apply energy sources in practice into our university courses. In this way, future teachers attending our courses will benefit from comprehensive resources and acquire essential knowledge, which they can use to prepare their students to face future global challenges with resilience and awareness.”
